Meet Dr. Croley

Dr. James E. Croley III is a board-certified ophthalmologist in Cape Coral, FL who specializes in advanced cataract treatment among other vision conditions. He is the founder and medical director of the Cataract & Refractive Institute of Florida, which has three locations in the Southwest area. He is a renowned leader in the field of ophthalmology and has been voted America's Top Ophthalmologist by Consumer Research Council of America, was recognized as Ophthalmologist of the Year in 2006, and a top doctor of 2020 by Marquis Who's Who in Ophthalmology. With over 40 years of industry experience, Dr. Croley has been very active in the new developments of ophthalmology and has traveled around the world to educate and train other eye care professionals to promote the utmost excellence in patient care. Additionally, Dr. Croley served on the Council to the American Academy of Ophthalmology for six years and the Political Action Committee Board of the American Academy of Ophthalmology for five years, promoting health in Washington D.C. Dr. Croley was also the President of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology and served on its board for many years.

In addition, he is skilled in the performance of refractive lens exchange, glaucoma treatment, and procedures to correct droopy eyelids. Education and Training

Dr. Croley graduated manga cum laude from Cumberland College and continued his education by attending medical school at the University of Miami. After graduating from medical school, he served his internship at Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, AL. From there, he served his residency at the University of Alabama Eye Foundation Hospital where he became chief resident and a house staff representative. During his residency, he spent several months of training at Stanford University for ophthalmology.
