Procedures & Specialties

Dr. Croley specializes in a veriety of services and procedures including lasic, cataract surgery, ck, and  blepharoplasty.

Cataract Surgery

The clouding of the natural lens inside the eye is called a cataract.  Symptoms of cataracts are blurred vision, dull color vision and poor night vision.  In order to regain clear vision, a tiny incision is made in the eye and the natural clouded lens is removed and replaced with a clear lens (IOL).  The surgery takes only a few minutes.  Instant vision cataract surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure and does not involve any patch, stitches or shots.

  • AcrySof ReSTOR IOL - At one time, when having cataract surgery, a patient could only regain clear distance vision without glasses.  Now thanks to the AcrySof ReSTOR IOL, crisp, clear vision can be obtained without glasses from near to far.  Unlike monofocal IOLs, it is a multifocal IOL designed to restore multiple ranges of vision.  The ReSTOR IOL responds to changes in the size of the eye's pupil to distribute light between near and far, allowing an eye to see everything from the pages of a book, to your computer screen, to scenic landscapes.  With the ReSTOR IOL, you can truly experience visual freedom!
  • AcrySof Toric IOL - If you have astigmatism and cataracts, the AcrySof Toric IOL may be a great choice for you.  It's the first IOL that treats astigmatism at the same time it corrects cataracts, eliminating the need for two seperate procedures and giving you clear distance vision without glasses.

Refractive Surgery

  • Lasik - Lasik vision correction is an exciting option for people whose sporting, leisure, occupational or lifestyle choices are compromised by their dependence on glasses or contact lenses.  This laser procedure reshapes the cornea to permanently correct myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness) and some astigmatism in individuals with otherwise healthy eyes.  People notice a dramatic improvement in their vision, even on the first day after surgery.

  • CK - Conductive Keratoplasty is a non-invasive procedure which uses radio frequency technology to reshape the eye.  CK is specifically designed for patients who see well at distance but need glasses to read.  CK takes only a few minutes to perform and is done right in the office.

Glaucoma Diagnosis and Treatment

Glaucoma is a disease of the eye characterized by damage to the optic nerve fibers caused by an increase in eye pressure.  Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness in the United States but loss of sight can usually be prevented with close, frequent monitoring.  In addition to measuring intra-ocular pressure, our office offers state-of-the-art testing which can detect the first signs of glaucoma damage.

  • OCT - Ocular Coherence Tomography measures the thickness of the optic nerve tissue to detect the earliest signs of thinning due to glaucoma.

  • Visual Fields - Visual Field testing maps out the field of vision.  Glaucoma causes specifically shaped defects in the field of vision which can indicate loss of vision.

  • Ocular Blood Flow - Ocular Blood Flow measures the health of the blood flowing into the eye.  It is felt that people with low ocular blood flow are at higher risk for glaucoma damage.

  • SLT - Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty is a “cold” laser that makes very small openings in the trabecular meshwork of the eye to drain fluid.  This helps lower eye pressure and in many cases can effectively treat glaucoma without medication.
