Dr. Jyotin C. Pandit is a UK-trained Ophthalmologist joining the Cataract & Refractive Institute of Florida, bringing over 35 years of international experience in comprehensive eye care. UK-trained and Oxford-Educated, he is a member of the Florida Society of Ophthalmology and has been an active contributor to peer-reviewed medical literature throughout his career, with more than 20 published papers in leading journals including the British Journal of Ophthalmology, Experimental Eye Research, and the BMJ.

Skills and Specialties

Dr. Pandit specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of cataracts, including advanced phacoemulsification techniques and premium intraocular lens implants such as toric and refractive bifocal IOLs. He has extensive experience in medical retina, treating diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion, and uveitis. Dr. Pandit is additionally skilled in the management of glaucoma – including trabeculectomy and SLT laser – as well as neuro-ophthalmology, ocular surface disease, and management of acute eye emergencies.

Education and Training

Dr. Pandit earned his primary medical degree from the University of Wales, Cardiff, before completing his ophthalmology residency training across hospitals i n Southwest England. He undertook at research residency at the Nuffield Laboratory of Ophthalmology at the University of Oxford, where he later earned his Master of Science degree in Ophthalmology. He was appointed Clinical Lecturer at the University of Bristol and completed a Fellowship in Corneal and Refractive Surgery in the United Kingdom. Dr. Pandit has also served as an Adjunct Professor at St. Matthews University Medical School in the Cayman Islands, training medical students for five years.
